Import Picture Icon
Screen Shot 1 - Main Working Screen
This is where you create your kaleidoscope. Using the "Import Picture" icon which
loads your photo to the left of the screen. Single click on one of the templates then
double click on your photo. Visualize a clock and click on the One O'Clock segment of
the template this is the active segments for each templates. Click again and hold, now
move your mouse around to position your photo within the segment, release and the
program will automatically refresh the screen. Click anywhere outside of the photo box
to view the full kaleidoscope.
To use your kscopes in other graphics programs select "Export" from the "File" menu
and select the size, dpi and file type to save as. If you don't see these choices contact us
for a FREE "Export Enhancement" upgrade.
Note: "Open Picture" is used to open kscopes already saved in Dazzling Reflections and
will not load your photos into the program. Always use "Import Picture" to load your
photos.
Screen Shot 2 - Resize and Rotate
Resize: Click inside the master segment to activate, using the small black boxes in the
middle of the photo box edges, pull straight out to enlarge and push in to reduce.
Rotate: Using the circles on each corner of the photo box pull straight down or push
straight up to rotate. Resist the urge to follow the photo in rotation (pull down or push up).
Repeat these steps until you have achieved the desired kaleidoscope and click outside
the photo box to view the kscope.
Tip: By not completely filling the master segment you can create new and interesting
shapes thus expanding your kaleidoscope possibilities.
Screen Shot 3 - Duplication & Printing
Printing Screen Icon
Printing a kaleidoscope: Click on the "Printing Screen" icon, you will see that your screen has
changed and now has rulers on the top and left side of the screen. The software defaults to a 8"
kscope, the largest you can print on a single sheet of paper. To make that kscope smaller simply
click on it to activate, grab one of the black boxes located on the edges and corners hold and move
your mouse to resize, use the rulers as a guide.
Duplicate Icon
Print Icon
Duplicating: To create duplicates of a kscope simply click on the "Duplicate" icon. Your kscope
will appear on top of the original kscope, click on it with your mouse and move to another position on
the screen. You may duplicate as many times as you wish as long as all images fit within the
8" x 11" portion on the screen. Use the "Print" icon to print your sheet.
Print Wizard Icon
Screen Shot 4 - Print Wizard
The Print Wizard is unique to Dazzling Reflections it allows you to print kscopes larger than 8" all
the way to 16" using your 8.5"x11" printer. How cool is that!
From the Printing Screen click on the "Print Wizard" icon, the "print wizard" dialog box will pop
up. In this example we will create a 10" kscope. Using the slider bar slide it to the 10" position.
The print wizard will automatically calculate that 2-sheet of 8.5"x11" paper are required for this
project and shows an icon to represent that.
You may also enter the dimensions of your kscope in the "Size X" and "Size Y" boxes. Use these
boxes to create rectangle and oval frame. Be sure to check our "Scrapbook pages" section to see
examples of this.
We realise that printing supplies can be expensive
and created the Paper Saver feature to compensate
for that: Paper Saver is another unique feature that
Dazzling Reflections offers. For template that have
negative space in the center the Paper Saver feature
may be activated by clicking the "paper saver"
dialog box.
This allows you to print a 12" kscope on 2-sheets of
8.5"x11" paper versus 4-sheets. Great for 12"
scrapbook page borders!
Screen Shot 5 - Print Preview
From the "Print Wizard" menu click the "Print" button.
You will be taken to a "Print Preview" screen. This
illustrates how your project will print on 2-sheets of
8.5"x11" paper. Click on the (two page) option at the top
of the screen to view both pages on the screen.
Click the "Print" button to be taken to your printer menu
options.
Once your project has printed simply make 2-straight cuts
and join your kscope together.
Tip: for 12" page scrapbookers. In our experience 10" kscopes work well on 12" pages, they leave a 1"
border around the page for matting or journaling.
